Local Films Expected to Recover from the Long Slump

The Classified File marked the highest opening score for all local films released this year.
 
 
The director’s previous release 
Friend: The Great Legacy scored $9.33 million from 1.37 admissions in the first week and grossed a total of $19.81 during the theatrical run in 2013. 2005’s 
Typhoon, which earned $20.18 million, is currently KWAK’s highest-grossing film.
 
Opening on the same day, another local newcomer 
The Silenced landed in third spot, amassing $1.83 million over four days. Though far weaker than 
The Classified File  the mystery drama set under Japanese occupation has already exceeded director 
LEE Hae-young’s previous title 
Foxy Festival which managed $1.38 million in 2010.
