Broker, Officially Invited to the 49th Telluride Film Festival


 

Broker, the winner of the Best Actor at the 75 Festival de Cannes, was officially invited to the 49th Telluride Film Festival. 

 

Held annually in Telluride, Colorado, the Telluride Film Festival is known as a film festival that screens the films selected by local film officials and critics in the U.S. and opens the door to the North American awards season, including the Oscars. Korean films were invited to the festival, including Director Bong Joonho’s PARASITE in 2019 and Director Kim Jeewoon’s The Good, the Bad, and the Weird in 2008. Director Kore-eda Hirokazu and Actor Song Kangho attended the 49th Telluride Film Festival, which ran from September 2 to 5.

 

Broker is a film about the unexpected and special journey of those who become involved in the baby box, and it’s the winner of the Best Actor award for the first time in Korean film history at the 75th Festival de Cannes. Since then, Broker has been screened as the closing film at the 69th Sydney Film Festival, won the ARRI Award at the 39th Munich International Film Festival, and invited to screen at the New Horizons International Film Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival, etc. 

 

In addition, Broker has officially been invited to the 47th Toronto International Film Festival, which will open on September 8th, and the 70th San Sebastian International Film Festival, which will open on September 16, proving the global interest in the film. Apart from that, at the Norwegian International Film Festival, which ended on August 26, Broker won the Ray of Sunshine Award, which is awarded to the most joyous film of the year, adding more meaning to it than just winning another award.

 

Broker has also confirmed its release in many countries, including Italy on October 13, Poland on October 28, France on December 7, and North America on December 26, and is preparing to meet global audiences.
