Actress LEE Joo-young Cast in YOON SI-NAE HAS DISAPPEARED

Rising Star Cast in New Korean Academy of Film Arts Feature

Rising star LEE Joo-young has been cast in Yoon Si-nae Has Disappeared (translated title), a project from the 14th feature-length film production class of the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA). The project is being helmed by KIM Jin-hwa, who makes her feature debut.

The story follows a daughter named Hada (LEE Joo-young), who is a YouTube personality, her mother Soon-i, who impersonates popular trot singer Yoon Si-nae, and an intriguing young man named Joon-ok. These three characters hit the road in search for the real Yoon Si-nae, who disappeared on the day of one of the concerts.

Following her debut as an actress five years ago, former model LEE Joo-young has quickly racked up an impressive list of credits, showing off scene-stealing turns in Believer (2018), Samjin Company English Class and this year’s Netflix series The School Nurse Files. She is currently on screens in a small role in Director KIM Jong-kwan’s Josée.

KAFA, the alma mater of BONG Joon-ho and IM Sang-soo, has launched several new filmmakers through their feature-length program, including JO Sung-hee with End of Animal (2010), who went on to make A Werewolf Boy (2012) and the upcoming SPACE SWEEPERS, as well as YOON Sung-hyun with Bleak Night (2010), who debuted his latest film Time to Hunt on Netflix this year.

Yoon Si-nae Has Disappeared is currently shooting and is expected to wrap production at the end of the year.
