18th Florence Korea Film Fest to Spotlight CHO Jin-woong

BLACK MONEY to Open Italian Celebration of Korean Cinema

After being delayed from its usual March slot by this year’s COVID-19 pandemic, the Florence Korea Film Fest is set to return for its 18th edition between September 23 and 30. The festival will open with BLACK MONEY (2019) and will feature a special focus on the film’s star CHO Jin-woong. Closing the festival will be the thriller Bring Me Home (2019), the comeback project of star LEE Young-ae.

Beyond BLACK MONEY (2019), other CHO Jin-woong films screening will include the hit thrillers A Hard Day (2014) and Believer (2018), the period prison drama MAN OF WILL (2017), the comedy-drama Intimate Strangers (2018) and the bromance Man of Men (2019).

In addition, CHO Jin-woong will take part in an online masterclass for the festival. Also participating in online masterclasses will be CHUNG Ji-young, who directed CHO in BLACK MONEY (2019) and is known for White Badge (1992) and Unbowed (2012), and film composer Mowg, known for I Saw The Devil (2010) and BURNING (2018).

Other features screening in this year’s lineup include mystery-thriller Idol (2019), exorcism horror-thriller Metamorphosis (2019), war film The Battle: Roar to Victory (2019), mystery-drama The 12th Suspect (2019), disaster action-comedy EXIT (2019), global sensation PARASITE (2019), family drama A Little Princess (2019), period drama MAL·MO·E: The Secret Mission (2019), and the indie dramas Moonlit Winter (2019), Move the Grave, Garden, Zoological (2019) and Light for the Youth (2019).

Several older titles will also be screened, including the period drama The Royal Tailor (2014), political drama 1987: When the Day Comes (2017), escape thriller The Battleship Island (2017) and the independent title Autumn Garden (2011).
