HELLO, MY SOULMATE to Go Before Cameras in August
JEON So-nee will join the previously announced KIM Da-mi in the upcoming drama Hello, My Soulmate (translated title), the commercial debut of indie director MIN Yong-keun. A remake of the Chinese film Soulmate, the film is expected to enter production this coming August for three months.
The film will follow the lifelong friendship of two very different girls who meet when they’re 13. The project is a remake of Derek TSANG’s acclaimed 2016 Chinese film Soulmate, which notably earned a joint Best Actress Award at the Golden Horse Film Festival and Awards for its leads ZHOU Dongyu and Sandra MA.
KIM Da-mi burst onto the scene as the lead in PARK Hoon-jung’s action hit The Witch : Part 1. The Subversion (2018), for which she was chosen from auditions among some 1,500 hopefuls. She recently appeared in the popular JTBC series Itaewon Class, the first drama series produced by film studio Showbox, which was distributed globally on Netflix.
