THREE SISTERS, A DISTANT PLACE and AFTERWATER to Screen in Jeonju
The Jeonju International Film Festival (JIFF) has revealed the three Jeonju Cinema Projects that will populate its 21st edition, which will begin May 28. This year’s titles will be the homegrown films Three Sisters by LEE Seung-won and A Distant Place by PARK Kun-young, as well as Afterwater by Balkan filmmaker Dane KOMLJEN.
Afterwater is a co-production between Germany, Korea, Spain and Serbia. This experimental work marks the second feature length film for Dane KOMLJEN, who debuted with All the Cities of the North in 2016.
This year’s JIFF will take place without a public audience, with screenings limited to jury members and invited filmmakers owing to this year’s Covid-19 pandemic. However, various online showcases will be held from late May until September, with further details to be announced.
