Korean Sales Agent Launches BURNING and MONSTRUM at EFM
Korean sales outfit 
Finecut is in the midst of a busy European Film Market (EFM). The company represents three of the Korean films screening at the Berlin International Film Festival this year and has three major upcoming titles on its docket, in addition to a range of recent commercial and indie fare.
Human, Space, Time and Human, the controversial new film from 
KIM Ki-duk which is having its world premiere in the Panorama Special section of the Berlin International Film Festival, has sealed several deals with distributors in Japan (King Records), Norway (Fidalgo Film) and Greece and Cyprus (Danaos Film). The film stars Min FUJII (
My New Sassy Girl, 2016), 
JANG Keun-suk (
You're My Pet, 2011), 
AHN Sung-ki (
Revivre, 2015), 
LEE Sung-jae (
Public Enemy, 2002) and 
RYOO Seung-bum (
The Berlin File, 2013) among others as passengers on a warship who wake up one morning to find that they are floating in the sky.
 
Meanwhile, fellow Forum invitee 
Last Child (2017) had its inflight rights presold to Encore Inflight. From director 
SHIN Dong-seok, the New Currents competitor from last year’s 
Busan International Film Festival follows grieving parents who begin to bond with the classmate who was saved by their recently departed son.
Finecut also has a trio of major upcoming titles that were drumming up interest on the market floor in Berlin. These include 
LEE Chang-dong’s long-awaited comeback 
Burning. Based on a short story by MURAKAMI Haruki, the film features 
YOO Ah-in (
Veteran, 2015) and 
Steven YEUN (
Okja, 2017). Also in their slate is the upcoming period creature feature 
Monstrum, from 
Countdown (2011) director 
HEO Jong-ho and featuring 
KIM Myung-min (V.I.P., 2017), 
LEE Hye-ri of Kpop group Girl’s Day and 
Okja co-star 
CHOI Woo-shik. 
Finecut also presented a promo clip of their animated title 
Red Shoes & the 7 Dwarfs from director 
HONG Sung-ho, which features Hollywood stars such as Chloë Grace Moretz, Sam Caflin and Gina Gershon.
