Korean Thriller Scores Multiple Festival Invites
Lotte Entertainment’s new thriller
Bluebeard, which just opened in first place at the Korean box office, has been snatched up for distribution by several companies around the world.
Well Go USA has taken the rights for North America, Japanese rights went to New Select, while My Way Film Company bought the film for Hong Kong and Viva Communications landed it for the Philippines.

CHO Jin-woong as a doctor who inadvertently hears a murder confession when he sedates an elderly client during a routine appointment, who also happens to be his landlord. The doctor begins to suspect him and his son from when a woman’s head is found at a butcher shop run by the landlord’s son.
In addition to its sales success, the film looks set to have a strong festival run, as it will have its international premiere at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival and has also been invited to Udine Far East Film Festival and the Hawaii International Film Festival’s spring showcase.
The film opened in first place on March 1st in Korea, drawing 386,000 viewers (USD 2.86 million).
