Indie Thriller Recognized in Portugal
 
 
Indie Korean thriller 
Deep Trap has won the Best Film Award in the Orient Express section, reserved for Asian films, at this year’s Fantasporto - Oporto International Film Festival in Portugal, one of the world’s foremost genre film events. This year Fantasporto ran from February 26th until March 5th.
 
 
Deep Trap, which debuted in Korean theaters back in September, features 
Don LEE (aka MA Dong-seok) as the mysterious owner of an inn on an island who begins to terrorize a young couple (played by 
JO Han-sun and 
KIM Min-gyeong) who visit from the city. The film is directed by 
KWON Hyung-jin, who has previously made the dramas 
For Horowitz (2006) and 
Wedding Dress (2010) as well as the thriller 
The Truck (2008).
