MBLAQ’s G.O. Eyes Film Debut

Takes Supporting Role in DAD IS DAUGHTER

According to production company KIMCHI ENTERTAINMENT, G.O., member of the popular Korean boy band MBLAQ, is looking to expand his repertoire to film after playing a supporting part in upcoming drama Dad Is Daughter (translated title), which began filming in November of last year.

The 28-year-old singer signed on to play a CEO in the film which features YOON Je-moon and JEONG So-min as the father and daughter duo of the title who must overcome their personal troubles by beginning to trust and confide in one another. The film gives YOON, a veteran character actor seen in Mother (2009) and Haemoo (2014), a rare leading part, while TV actress JEONG has so far only appeared in the indie Alice: Boy from Wonderland (2015). The drama marks the debut of filmmaker KIM Hyeong-hyeop and co-stars LEE Il-hwa, SHIN Koo, LEE Mi-do and KANG Ki-young.

Though the scenes mark his first film project, the singer previously appeared in the TV drama Ghost and reality show King of Mask Singer. Originally a member of the act TYKEYS, G.O. is currently the main vocalist of three-member band MBLAQ and was mentored by K-pop superstar Rain (a.k.a. JUNG Ji-hoon).

Fellow MBLAQ member LEE Joon made a successful jump to the big screen after receiving strong notices for his leading role in 2013’s Rough Play and last year appeared in The Piper.
