Korean Chillers at Portuguese Fantastic Fest
 
 
The Oporto International Film Festival (Fantasporto) in Portugal returns for its 36th edition next year on February 26th. Among the 36 films that will screen in the Official Fantasy Section is a pair of recent Korean horror-thrillers, 
The Chosen: Forbidden Cave and 
Deep Trap.
 
The second film from director 
KIM Hwi, who debuted with 
The Neighbours, which accrued 2.43 million admissions (USD 15.49 million) in 2012, 
The Chosen: Forbidden Cave had its world premiere as the closing film of the 19th 
Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival this summer, before going on release in Korea in August. The film follows a psychologist who moonlights as an exorcist and faces a powerful spirit with the help of his apprentice. 
KIM Sung-kyun and 
CHUN Ho-jin, who both appeared in 
The Neighbors, and 
YOO Sun (
Don't Cry, Mommy, 2012) lead the cast.
 
Having its international debut, following a theatrical release in Korea back in September, 
Deep Trap is the latest film from director 
KWON Hyung-jin, who has switched between dramas including as 
For Horowitz (2006) and 
Wedding Dress (2010) and thrillers such as 
The Truck (2008) throughout his career. 
JO Han-sun and 
KIM Min-gyeong play a young couple who visit an island only to be preyed upon by a mysterious local played by 
Don LEE aka MA Dong-seok (
One on One, 2014).
