Montreal World Film Festival Grabs Korean Dozen

Five Feature World Premieres in Canada
 
 

The Montreal World Film Festival(MWFF), which kicks off on August 27th, will feature a dozen Korean films, including eight features, five of which will be world premieres.
 
Among previously released films, MWFF has invited a trio of features that debuted at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) last year. Those include IM Heung-soon’s documentary Factory Complex, which picked up the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale, KIM Myeong-joon’s Strangers on the Field, another documentary, and the transgender indie drama Half, from director KIM Se-yeon.
 
Having their world bows in Canada will be the mystery film No Tomorrow, the sophomore work of Azooma (2012) director LEE Ji-seung, SO Jae-ick’s thriller It’s Really Kind of You, dramedy My sister, the pig lady, from A Day For An Affair (2007) helmer JANG Moon-il, YANG Chan-seok’s high school drama Our Last Summer, and CHOI Seung-yeun’s thriller Su saek.
 
Also screening in Montreal will be the shorts Disappearance by JANG Jun-yeop, CHOI Byung-kwon’s Scouting Report, LEE Seung-yeob’s Thicker than Water and JEONG Seung-hui’s Fabric Cosmos.
 
The 39th MWFF will run until September 7th.
