6 More Korean Films Selected for Hawaii IFF

Brings Total Count at 33rd HIFF to 9
 
 
The Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF) revealed the full program to its 33rd edition last week. Six more Korean films will join the three that were already revealed through the early program announcements, bringing the total tally of Korean films to nine.
 
Among the new films added to the lineup are: SONG Hae-sung’s Boomerang Family, starring PARK Hae-il, KONG Hyo-jin and YOON Je-moon as grownup siblings brought under the same roof once again; Gina KIM’s Final Recipe, a co-production starring Michelle YEOH; Intruders, NOH Young-seok’s Daytime Drinking (2009) follow-up which just premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival; KIM Yong-hwa’s big budget 3D gorilla feature Mr. Go; The Stone, CHO Se-rae’s debut which recently premiered at the Locarno International Film Festival; and the short film Two Boys and a Sheep, from director LEE Hyung-suk.
 
This latest sextet from the Korean peninsula joins previously announced romantic comedy How to Use Guys with Secret Tips, thriller Cold Eyes and the romance Very Ordinary Couple. The 33rd Hawaii International Film Festival will take place from October 10th to 20th.
