Director IM Kwon-taek’s son and actor KWON Hyun-sang received a Happy face award at the first NEW Korean wave new face award. He has been consistently working in various films on screen and on TV throughout the year 2012.

He starred in the movies Almost Che, Don’t Cry Mommy and The Tower. On TV he appeared in The King 2 Hearts, God of Study, and Man of the Princess. In all of these he performed consistently. He drew attention as the son of the master of Korean film IM Kwon-taek but he made his own way as an actor without any help from his father.
