For Expansion of Interchange with Vietnamese Film Industry
Korean Film Council (KOFIC) and the Vietnam Cinema Department co-hosted 2017 Vietnamese Film Days in Korea at the
Lotte Cinema World Tower complex and Lotte Hotel in Jamsil from January 12th (Thur.) to 14th (Sat.). The event came after the ‘Cooperative Agreement for Mutual Improvement of Film Industry’ signed at 2016 K-Cinema Global Networking in Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh.
The opening event was attended by a lot of movie people such as Ngo Phuong Lan, director of the Vietnam Cinema Department, Dinh Tuan Vu, director of Yen's Life (2016) and actress Do Thi Hang. In addition, four Vietnamese films Yellow flower on the Green Grass, Farewell, Berlin Wall and Yen's Life were screened during the event.
Meanwhile, the Korean-Vietnamese Film Industry Conference was held on January 13th. The conference discussed bilateral cooperation of film industries like co-productions between two countries and sought expansion of interchange and market entry between Korea and Vietnam, which is emerging as a new movie market. KOFIC will do its best to vitalize theatric business in the private sector through promoting exchange with Vietnamese film industry.
