5 Films Chosen for International Co-Production Incentive Support 2013
The result of evaluation for International Co-Production Incentive Support 2013, a project run by the
Korean Film Council (
KOFIC) for activation of international co-production of Korean films, has been made.
KIM Yong-hwa’s
Mr. Go, PARK Myeong-cheon’s
The Host 2,
AN Byung-ki’s remake of
The Phone,
JEON Kyu-hwan’s
Painter (working title) and
CHANG Yoon-hyun’s
Yoku Love (working title) will be supported. Each of the films will receive KRW 30 million (USD 27.300) except
Painter which will get KRW 26 million (USD 23.600).
The evaluation was made by a jury composed of seven members at KOFIC on April 29th and 30th. The evaluation criteria were ①validity of planning and completeness of work, ②possibility for co-production and attracting foreign investment, ③capability of director and staff for production, ④concreteness and possibility of plan for foreign distribution and ⑤need of incentive and appropriateness of use.

KIM Mi-hee, the president of Studio Dream Capture, the studio that produced
PaceMaker,
KIM Sang-o, the president of Ozonefilm, the production company of
Deranged, BAE Yong-guk, the president of
BlueStorm, the production company of
April Snow and
Family Ties,
JANG Won-seok, the president of
Dasepo Club, the production company of
War of the Arrows,
LEE Sung-gang, professor at the Korean Academy of Film Arts and the director of
My Beautiful Girl, Mari, HWANG Gyu-deok, professor at Myongji University and the director of
For Eternal Hearts and
KIM Nan-suk, the president of
JINJIN Pictures, a company that has distributed films in Korea and overseas.
