Hunt, the directorial debut of Actor Lee Jungjae, who has been nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Actor for Squid Game, topped the box office on the weekend of its release. According to the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS) of the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) on August 16, Hunt attracted 1,548,000 viewers during the National Liberation Day holiday period (12th to 15th), ranking first in the box office with 45.6% of sales. By the 15th, the total number of audiences exceeded 1.94 million, and the countdown to surpass 2 million viewers in total has begun.

Hunt depicts the urgent psychological warfare that takes place when two top agents, who have learned that there is a double agent in their organization, suspect each other. Director Lee Jungjae's directing ability is receiving favorable reviews, which melted important issues in Korean society through cinematic imagination against the backdrop of the 1980s.

HANSAN: RISING DRAGON, which secured the top of the weekend box office for 2 consecutive weeks until last week, has moved down to 2nd place with 1,017,000 viewers over the past four days. HANSAN: RISING DRAGON attracted 727,492 viewers over the weekend of the third week of its release, recording 30.2% of sales with 6,156,000 viewers in total. HANSAN: RISING DRAGON is 2nd place at the box office hits after The Roundup, the 1st 10 million-viewer movie among Korean films released in 2022.

Along with Hunt and HANSAN: RISING DRAGON, Emergency Declaration and Alienoid, regarded as the ‘BIG 4’ in the 2022 summer theater district in Korea, recorded 3rd and 10th over the weekend. The total audience of Emergency Declaration is 1,951,065, while Alienoid recorded 1,525,159 in total.

Animation films are performing well during the summer vacation. DC League of Super-Pets, which was released on August 10, newly entered the box office in 5th place with 83,346 weekend viewers. Minions: The Rise of Gru is also successful with 2,112,611 viewers in total, ranking 6th with 70,707 weekend viewers.
