Korean Stars to Appear in HASUMI Eiichiro’s THE SUN DOES NOT MOVE

Korean stars HAN Hyo-joo and BYUN Yo-han have been cast in the Japanese film The Sun Does Not Move (translated title). The film is being directed by HASUMI Eiichiro and is based on a novel by YOSHIDA Shuichi.

The plot follows a tense battle between international agents from different nations regarding top secret information about a new energy source. Author YOSHIDA previously penned the novel Rage, which was adapted into a popular film by the Japanese-Korean film director LEE Sang-il in 2016.

Korean star HAN’s most famous roles include the surveillance thriller Cold Eyes (2013), the romantic drama The Beauty Inside (2015) and the sci-fi action film ILLANG : THE WOLF BRIGADE (2018). However, this won’t mark HAN’s first work overseas as she is also part of the main cast of the American TV series Treadstone, which is currently airing on the cable channel USA Network. The show, which is being distributed globally by Amazon’s Prime Video service, began airing in late September last year.

BYUN, who catapulted to prominence through the hit indie film Socialphobia (2015) and several popular TV series, has appeared in films such as the romance drama Will You Be There? (2016) and the time loop thriller A Day (2017). BYUN previously co-starred with HAN when he had a small part in Cold Eyes (2013).
