Korean Animation Features Voice of Chloë Grace MORETZ
Ahead of its market premiere debut at this month’s European Film Market, the long-gestating Korean 3D animated feature Red Shoes and the 7 Dwarfs was sold to several international markets by Korean film distributor Finecut.
As reported by Screen Daily, the international companies that acquired the title were ABS-CBN Corporation (the Philippines), BF Distribution (Latin America), Bohemia Motion Pictures (Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary), Film House (Israel), Golden River Intercine (Vietnam), Nos Lusomundo (Portuguese-speaking Africa) and Pro Films (Bulgaria).
This new round of sales was in addition to previously sealed deals for territories such as the Baltic States, India, Italy, Middle East, Poland, Portugal, Turkey and ex-Yugoslavia and Albania.
First time director HONG Sung-ho, who previously made the short Egg-Cola (2006), worked alongside animation director KIM Jin, who has worked as a character designer on several Disney animated titles, including Tangled, Big Hero 6 and Frozen. Red Shoes and the 7 Dwarfs is also notable for its voice cast, which features Hollywood names such as Chloë Grace MORETZ, Sam CLAFLIN and Gina GERSHON. Also working on the project was the composer Geoff ZANELLI, who recently scored Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
The Korean animation was produced by the animation and VFX studio Locus.
