After Big Break, New Star Lines Up New Film Roles

Already set to star in the upcoming SHIN Min-a vehicle Diva, actor LEE Kyu-hyung is doubling down by taking another role in the Witness (translated title) with JUNG Woo-sung and KIM Hyang-gi. The pair of roles will be his first film projects since the 2016 period comedy Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River

The film features JUNG as an unsuccessful attorney who is representing a client in a murder trial. KIM plays Ji-woo, an autistic girl who was the only witness to the crime. LEE will play the public prosecutor in charge of the case.

LEE, who made his debut as an actor in 2001, has steadily been working in plays, musicals and on the screen but finally got his big break last year in the cast of the hit tvN drama Stranger and currently features in the popular JTBC show Life. LEE's prior film roles include workplace comedy YOU CALL IT PASSION (2015), drama My Dictator (2014) and horror The Wicked (2014), in which he had minor roles.

Witness (not to be confused with the currently-in-theaters thriller The Witness) is the latest work by director LEE Han, known for his smash hit Punch (2011) with KIM Yun-seok and YOO Ah-in and his acclaimed drama Thread of Lies (2014).

The project kicked off production on July 7 and is due out in theaters at some point in 2019.
