Youth Thriller Reunites BLEAK NIGHT Director and Stars

Featuring actors LEE Je-hoon, CHOI Woo-shik, PARK Jung-min and AHN Jae-hong, the youth sci-fi thriller Hunting Time (working title) wrapped filming in Incheon on July 15th. Production took approximately six months and concluded with a large-scale protest scene. The film is the long-awaited sophomore feature of YOON Sung-hyun, who made a massive impression with his debut, the critically acclaimed high school indie drama Bleak Night (2011).

Set in the near future amid an economic crash, four young men join forces to hatch a dangerous plan to get themselves out of the city. While they strive desperately towards their goal, a mysterious man chases after them.

LEE Je-hoon, who got his start through Bleak Night, has featured in hits such as Architecture 101 (2012) and Anarchist from Colony (2017). LEE’s co-star in Bleak Night, PARK Jung-min was recently seen in Psychokinesis and Sunset in My Hometown and will next take the lead in Tazza 3.

CHOI Woo-shik met global audiences in BONG Joon-ho’s Okja and recently appeared the hit mystery-action The Witch : Part 1. The Subversion. AHN Jae-hong rose to prominence in the breakout indie sports comedy The King of Jokgu (2014) and has of late been seen in Fabricated City (2017) and Microhabitat, among others.

Made while he was a graduate student at the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA), YOON’s Bleak Night debuted at Busan International Film Festival in 2010, where it won the New Currents award. It went to win several awards for Best New Director and Best New Actor, helping to launch the careers of both LEE Je-hoon and PARK Jung-min in the process.
