Korean Actor to Produce Faith-Based Picture
CHA In-pyo, star of
The Tower (2012) and
Flu (2013), is looking to make inroads into Hollywood after joining the US project
HeavenQuest: A Pilgrim’s Progress as both an actor and producer. The film will be a joint production between CHA’s company TKC Pictures and the American purveyor of faith-based movies King Street Pictures.
The news follows an agreement made back in March when CHA took a trip to Los Angeles and met with King Street Pictures following an introduction from actor Ricky KIM.
HeavenQuest will be based on John Bunyan’s 17th century novel The Pilgrim’s Progress. The story is a Christian allegory of an extended dream sequence in which a normal man travels from his hometown to the top of Mount Zion.
The film, which is still in pre-production, is due to be released next summer and will feature actors such as Alan Powell, Eric Tiede, Patrick Thompson, Peta Sergeant, Fernando Romero and Asger Folmann, as wall as CHA and KIM.
TKC Pictures also revealed that “CHA In-pyo has signed to take part in three Hollywood films during the next three years to kickstart his career in the US. He will be going back and forth between the US and Korea from now on.” The company plans to become a gateway for Korean actors into the American film industry.
