NETPAC Award for Ordinary Person
Recent Korean investigative drama ORDINARY PERSON has returned home triumphant from the 39th Moscow International Film Festival where it picked up the NETPAC Award for Best Asian Feature, as well as the Best Actor award for its star SON Hyun-ju.
A veteran character actor, SON become one of the top leading men in the country after his starring role in the smash hit Hide and Seek in 2013. He has since led many thrillers, including The Chronicles of Evil (2015) and The Phone (2015).
The second film by director KIM Bong-han, ORDINARY PERSON takes place in 1987, near the end of the rule of former president CHUN Doo-hwan, and focuses on an investigator who begins to question the information he is being fed after the National Intelligence Service handpicks him to lead a serial killer case. The film failed to secure a major audience when it was released in March, accruing just 383,000 admissions.
