Born in 1965, SON graduated from Chung-ang University’s School of Theater and debuted as an actor following his successful audition in the KBS talent competition in 1991. In recent years, SON has mostly worked in television, including on the show The Chaser, for which he won numerous best actor prizes. SON returned to the silver screen in 2013, which was his biggest year yet, when he appeared as the antagonist in the massively popular North Korean spy drama Secretly Greatly and was the lead of the surprise thriller hit Hide and Seek.
