Sports Drama Sequel Stars Su Ae, OH Dal-su

Filming for Take Off 2 ended after three months on January 14th. The sports drama sequel stars Su Ae, OH Dal-su and OH Yeon-seo and is directed by KIM Jong-hyun.

While the first film dealt with a male ski jumping team, the new story focuses on women’s ice hokey. Su Ae appears as a North Korean defector who used to play on the national North Korean team. OH Dal-su plays the national team’s coach while OH Yeon-seo is another team member who switched to ice hockey after being kicked off the short track skating team.

Switching throughout her career between the big and small screen, Su Ae appeared in TV show Mask last year, while her last film role was in the influenza thriller The Flu in 2013. OH is coming off a huge 2015, in which he appeared in the hits Veteran, Assassination and Detective K: Secret of the Lost Island. In addition to Take Off 2, this year will see him appear in the currently filming disaster feature Tunnel with HA Jung-woo and BAE Doo-na, as well as tackle his first lead role in Pinching the Star, which will be released in March.

Director KIM Jong-hyun previously made Mr. Gam’s Victory (2004) and My New Partner (2008). The original, which attracted over eight million spectators, was directed by KIM Yong-hwa. Though no release date has been assigned as yet, Take Off 2 will be distributed by Megabit Plus M.
