Follows Up Well Received Screen Debut in ROUGH PLAY
LEE Joon, a member of the popular K-pop group MBLAQ, has been offered a new film role in the wake of the positive reception to his leading turn in the currently on release Rough Play.
Production company Studio East announced in a press release on Tuesday that LEE will appear alongside actress PARK Jin-hee in the new film Botox. Director HWANG Mi-na will adapt her original comic, which tells the story of a 42-year old woman with ambitions of becoming a writer as she embarks on a romance with a 21-year old. Botox will mark HWANG’s directorial debut.
PARK, well known for her TV roles, was most recently seen on the silver screen in KIM Hee-jung’s independent film Grape Candy. LEE has been receiving many positive notices for his role in SHIN Yeon-shick’s industry set drama Rough Play, which was penned and produced by KIM Ki-duk. The film was recently premiered at the Busan International Film Festival and released in Korean theaters last week, where to date it has attracted over 100,000 viewers.
Botox will go into production later this month with a release targeted at some point next year.
