The Law of Pleasures , Korea’s answer to Sex and the City began filming on July 29th.  The Law of Pleasures is about the sex, love and lives of three women in their 40s. Its script took home the Grand Prize at the 1st Lotte Entertainment Script Contest and will be directed by KWON Chil-in. Director KWON described women’s delicate psychology well in Singles (2003) and Hellcats (2008). The Law of Pleasures will be produced by Myung Films, which made Forever the Moment (2008) and last year’s Architecture 101.

 

The Law of Pleasures has attracted a lot of attention due to the participation of Korea’s hottest actresses in their 40s such as CHO Min-soo, MOON So-ri and UHM Jeong-hwa even ahead of the production. CHO earned international fame thanks to Pieta, a KIM Ki-duk film and the winner of last year’s Golden Lion in Venice, and plays Hae-yeong who dreams of new love after a divorce. MOON, winner of the Best New Actress Award in Venice for LEE Chang-dong’s Oasis (2002) takes on the role of the sexually provocative Mi-yeon who enjoys a second honeymoon after sending her son to study abroad. MOON also starred in A Good Lawyer’s Wife (2003) and Forever the Moment. Lastly, UHM plays Shin-hye, a working woman who begins a thrilling relationship with a younger man after breaking up with a longtime boyfriend. UHM worked with director KWON before on Singles. “It is meaningful to me that I will be able to talk about women in their 40s after Singles which focused on women in their 30s,” said UHM.“I am glad to work with MOON and UHM,” CHO said, showing high expectations for her collaboration with the other stars. “It is a rare opportunity to work with good actors and actresses,” said MOON. “So, I look forward to creating an excellent ensemble.”
