Cinematheque Friends Film Festival 2013 Takes Place

Cinematheque Friends Film Festival 2013 co-hosted by the Korean Association of Cinematheques, the Venice Biennale Foundation and Italian Cultural Center in Korea, is going to be held. Beginning January 17th and running until February 24th, A total of 25 films including The Purple Rose of Cairo directed by Woody ALLEN will screen.
 
Since the first edition took place in 2006 as a sponsor film festival, it has invited Korea’s representative film directors every January to sponsor and support the Seoul Art Cinema, an exclusive cinematheque theater. Having reached its 8th edition this year, the festival will commemorate the 11th anniversary of the foundation of Seoul Art Cinema as it starts a new decade.
 
To extend the meaning, the range of ‘friends’ has been expanded this year. The festival will be composed solely of choice sections where friends from diverse fields will participate in and films selected by the friends, critics and the cinematheque will be presented.
 
10 directors, KIM Gok, KIM Dong-won, KIM Tae-yong, MIN Kyu-dong, BYUN Young-joo, OH Seung-uk, YOON Seong-ho, YOON Jong-bin, LEE Myung-se and LEE Hae-young, the actor BAE Soo-bin, the producer Jaime SHIM, a poet and a musician will take part in to directly meet audiences.
