Born in 1982, Um Munsuk started his career in the entertainment industry first as a back dancer for the K-pop group god after winning a dance competition, and then as a solo pop singer under the moniker SIC, with the release of his first album in 2005, quickly followed by a second one the next year. He reappeared in 2012 as part of the electro-pop trio Monsterz he formed with Komo and One Shot, with which he released the album <Banana>. Starting in 2016, he was offered several minor roles, such as in <Confidential Assignment> (2016 and the melodrama series <Whisper> (2017). He even tried his hands at directing with the short <Being Shadow> (2017), which was selected for the Short Film Corner in Cannes. In 2019, he caught the attention of many with his turn as a gangster in the crime comedy series <The Fiery Priest> (2019). Later that year, he was named Rising Star at the Asia Model Awards. In 2022, he joined Don Lee in <The Roundup> (2022) and landed a leading role in the surprise hit comedy <6/45> (2022).
