Born in 1979, LEE Sung-wook is a born entertainer. When he was asked in second grade what he would like to be in the future, he answered “humorist”. Three years, as he became a fan of Hong Kong film as well as Korean actors LEE Gyoung-young and AHN Sung-ki, LEE Sung-wook decided he would be an actor. After a degree in drama and film from Soonchunhyang University, LEE made his debut on stage in 2004, performing famous musicals like <Subway Line 1>, <Laundry> and <Only You> as well as plays <Story of Two Soldiers> and <The Boxer and the Boy>. Starting 2010, LEE played in various short movies such as <The first grade> (2013), winner of the Audience Award from the Busan International Short Film Festival. He then landed his first feature film role in <Tazza-The Hidden Card> (2014), KANG Hyoung-chul’s sequel to the film adaptation of the popular comics, which gave him the opportunity to meet one of his idols, LEE Gyoung-young. Although he also appeared in the 2016 hit comedy <LUCK-KEY> (2015) and the mystery drama film <MISSING> (2015), LEE had to wait until 2018 to make his name known when he stole the show in TV series <Misty> (2018) as rival TV newsroom producer. This was quickly followed by another standout performance in the series <Where Stars Land> (2018), in which he portrayed the security chef of the Incheon International Airport. Also released in 2018, the award-winning <Microhabitat>, written and directed by JEON Go-woon from KwangHwaMoon Cinema, showed him as a divorced man. He then gained wider recognition with his casting in the historical drama <MAL·MO·E: The Secret Mission> (2018), and was next seen in the high-octane action film <Hit-and-Run Squad> (2018).
