Wi Hajun, born in 1991, graduated from Sungkyul University in theater and film and had his first role in the 2012 short film <Peace in Them> (2012). He first had brief appearances in feature films in 2015, in <Bad Guys Always Die> (2016) and <Coin Locker Girl> (2015), and he could also be seen in the 2017 biography drama <Anarchist from Colony>, but it was with the hit found footage horror film <GONJIAM: Haunted Asylum> (2017) that he was first noticed by the audience. Playing the leader of a group of Youtubers who decide to stream their exploration of an abandoned asylum for extra views, Wi not only took top billing for the first time but also – owing to the genre itself – served as camera operator, and his performance was recognized with newcomer award nominations from the Grand Bell Awards, the Blue Dragon Awards and the Chunsa Film Art Awards. After he was offered a support role in the female buddy-cop film <Miss & Mrs. Cops> (2018), he played the little brother of Son Yejin in the hit series <Something in the Rain> (2018). In the thriller film <Midnight> (2020), Wi showed a new facet of his acting by playing a serial killer chasing a woman who witnessed one of his crimes.
