Nam Joohyuk, born in 1994, entered the show business at the age of 19 when he won a beauty pageant organized by the Seoul Hoseo Art College, which led him to sign a modelling contract with the partner of the contest, management company Kplus. He was later enrolled at Seoul Hoseo, and in 2013, he made his first public appearance walking the runway for SONGZIO. Following the merger in 2014 of the modelling agency with YG Entertainment, one of the biggest players in the entertainment industry, Nam appeared in a couple of music videos (from Akdong Musician) before landing his first role in romcom TV series <The Idle Mermaid> (2014). He gained popularity as part of the regular cast of variety show <Off to School> (2014-2015), in which celebrities are sent back to high school. In 2015, he was given one of the lead roles in the high school drama series <Who Are You: School 2015>. The next year saw him establish a solid foothold in television thanks to his starring role in <Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo> (2016-2017) and his support parts in <Cheese in the Trap> (2016) and <Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo> (2016). His big-screen debut eventually came in 2018 when he co-starred with Zo Insung in the period war epic <The Great Battle>, receiving Best New Actor from the Blue Dragon Film Awards and the Korean Association of Film Critics in the process. In 2019, he joined Kim Hyeja and Han Jimin in the family drama series <Dazzling> and reunited with Han not long after in <Josée> (2020), the Korean film version of the popular Japanese short novel <Josee, the Tiger and the Fish>. He then received the male lead role in the Netflix magic realism series <The School Nurse Files> (2020), from Director Lee Kyoungmi and starred alongside Kim Taeri in the hit drama series <Twenty Five, Twenty One> (2022). In 2022, he was back on the big screen playing against Lee Sungmin in the comedy thriller <REMEMBER> (2020).
