Born in 1989, Jin Kijoo majored in computer sciences and media and used to work for an information technology services company and as a journalist for the regional TV and radio network Gangwon No.1 Broadcasting. In 2014, she entered the TV beauty pageant SBS Super Model and won one of the awards, thus setting off her acting career with a first role in the TV series <Second 20s> (2015). She went on to appear in TV series <Splash Splash Love> (2015), <One More Happy Ending> (2016) and <The Good Wife> (2016), and she could also be seen in the hit period drama series <Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo> (2016), in the role of the female lead’s maid. She then took on top billing in the romcom series <Wednesday 3:30 PM> (2017), and later in 2017, she was cast in Yim Soonrye’s feel-good drama film <Little Forest> (2018). Playing one of the childhood friend Kim Taeri’s character reunites with after moving back to her hometown, Jin was chosen her in parts due to the strong impression she made on Director Yim showing up at the audition with no makeup, wearing a training suit and slippers. Jin would later come away from the Chunsa Film Festival with the Best New Actress Award, and the surprise success of the movie – one of the few successes in 2018 – meant more exposure and role offers for Jin. Indeed, just a few months after, she received her first lead role in the melodrama series <Come and Hug> (2018). This was followed by other lead roles in the romantic comedy series <The Secret Life of My Secretary> (2019), as the titular character, and in the family drama <Homemade Love Story> (2020). In 2021, she took top billing in the thriller film <Midnight>, playing a hearing-impaired woman hunted by a serial killer after she witnessed one of his murders.
