Born in 1980, PAEK Seung-hwan wanted to be a film director and tried to apply for the series production department of Korea’s major TV networks and even some indie film companies, but after repeated refusals he finally received an opportunity to join the film distribution department of CJ Entertainment. After a short stint at Showbox, during which he was put in charge of the financing side of <KUNDO : Age of the Rampants> (2014) and <Inside Men> (2015), BAEK left to create his own company, with which he first executive produced <The Artist : Reborn> (2016). His first short film as a director, <The Designated Driver> (2017) was invited to compete at the Seoul Independent Film Festival in 2017.
