GONG Min-jeong, born in 1986, was seen as an introvert when she was a child, but a visit to a performance of the hit musical <Subway Line 1> when she was in middle school led her to try producing it with friends a few years later. Having enjoyed this experience, she decided to pursue an acting career and so entered the film department of the Konkuk University. Starting with <A Perfect Sight> in 2009, she has appeared in a large number of short movies, such as <Your Time is UP> (2012), <A Man in the Basement> (2016), <Terrific Weather> (2016) and <Love Triangle> (2016). She could also be seen in Hong Sangsoo’s <Yourself and Yours> (2016) and <On the Beach at Night Alone> (2016), before being promoted to the main cast in the director’s <Grass> (2017). The year 2019 saw her reach new heights in her career as she starred in the successful feminism-themed drama <KIM JI-YOUNG, BORN 1982> (2019), playing the title character’s big sister, as well as in the indie family comedy <Move the Grave> (2019), which won the Main Prize in the 1-2 Competition (for 1st and 2nd feature films) along with the NETPAC Jury Award at the Warsaw International Film Festival.
