Born in 2002, KIM Hwan-hee debuted her career at the age of 6 with the role of the female lead’s daughter in romantic TV series <Robber> (2008). She has since been appearing in many other series such as <Invincible Lee Pyung Kang> (2009) and <You’re the Best, Lee Soon-shin> (2013), and even nabbed a first acting honor in 2011 at the KBS Drama Award. In 2010, she made a first foray into film with the medium-length fantasy drama <Night Fishing>, directed by PARK Chan-wook and his brother PARK Chan-kyong, but had to wait <Born to Sing> (2013) to be cast in her first feature-length film. She suddenly rose to stardom in 2016 when she starred in the internationally acclaimed horror thriller <THE WAILING> (2016) from NA Hong-jin. Her performance as a young girl suffering from what seems to be a demonic possession left a strong impression on the audience, and earned her Best Child Actor at the Golden Film Festival and Best New Actress at the Grand Bell Awards. In his acceptation speech for best director at the Blue Dragon Awards ceremony, NA expressed his profound gratitude to KIM, declaring that she “saved” the film. In 2018, she landed the lead role of youth drama <Student A> (2018).
