LEE Sung-kyoung, born in 1990, was first considering going to a music college so she could become a professional pianist, but people in her entourage recommended her to try modelling. On her first participation in a modeling competition, the Super Model Contest, in 2008, she ended up among the ten winners and received the "LEX Prize". As a result, she took part in various fashion shows and appeared in several fashion magazine, and filmed her first TV commercial in 2011. In 2014, she decided to quit modelling and made her proper acting debut by landing a role in the TV drama series <It’s Okay, That’s Love>. Her performance in <Flower of Queen> (2015) was well received and helped her getting more role offers. 2016 was the year when she achieved the status of star, first with supporting roles in popular series <Cheese in the Trap> and <The Doctors>, and later with her titular role in the coming-of-age series <Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo> which was met with positive reviews despite low ratings. It was also with a story about sports that she made her big screen debut in 2018, this time as the love interest of a wrestler trainee in <LOVE+SLING> (2018). She was later cast as the rookie partner of RA Mi-ran in the buddy cop comedy <Miss & Mrs. Cops> (2018)
