Ha Yunkyung, born in 1992, has always enjoyed physical activities, entertainment and the arts but became particularly fond of films and drama plays when she was in high school, as she saw it as the synthesis of everything she likes. Despite their initial resistance, her parents resigned themselves to let her take acting classes, believing this would be just a short phase. But when they realized she was actually pretty proficient at this and was getting good grades, they decided to fully support her career choice. She was admitted into the Korea National University of Arts in 2011 where she would major in drama acting and made her debut in the indie sensation <Socialphobia> (2014), in which she made a strong impression as a young woman who takes her own life after becoming the target of cyberbullying, triggering the main narrative. She then followed it up with the indie feature <Stay with Me> (2015) and performed the titular character in the youth drama play <A Ballade for Roxanne> with the National Drama Company of Korea in 2015. She appeared in many shorts in the following years and was noticed again for her supporting role in another feature film, <Park Hwa-young> (2018), while also making her TV debut with the drama series <Matrimonial Chaos> (2018). She gained wider notice when she played a neurosurgery fellow in the TV series <Hospital Playlist> (2020-2021) and earned further praise for her take as a detective investigating a most particular kidnapping in the drama film <Go Back> (2020). The year 2022 saw her confirm her status as an up-and-coming talent, starring in the award-winning indie drama <Gyeong-ah’s Daughter>, and she rose to fame with her performance as Attorney Choi in the hit courtroom drama series <Extraordinary Attorney Woo> (2022).
