1985, because of his father’s job he was the only person to be born in Busan inside his native Seoul family. He spent his childhood coming and going to Seoul and other provinces. His conservative father who likes slasher films and his progressive mother who likes reading mystery stories influenced him. Getting shocked after watching STAR WARS as a teenager he starts going to the video rental stores and gets interested in films. Although his parents didn’t want him to, since he was the only child in the house to succeed in entering college at once he got into film school quite easily. He made many cheap films while he was at school. Not only he was interested in directing films but also interested in technical stuffs, he spent his 20’s as a cinematographer, editor and sound recorder. 2006, a short film <Lovely sunflower> which is about a human eating plant and a huge robot gets good evaluation from friends and professors and luckily gets to screen at the Cinemateque, an art theatre in Seoul. After finishing military service on 2009, he made a short film <Invisible>, which only took a week from the item to screening and gets to win Best Picture at Shin Sangok Film Festival in Korea and second prize at Korea-Italia Short film festival and screens at many other film festivals. He is still working as both director and cinematographer. <Beautiful>, which he participated as a cinematographer, got praised by “the atmosphere of the image arousing suspense in the film”. Now he is working in a small distribution agency with his friends and also working on a scenario for both a feature film and short film about a middle school girl in a fast food restaurant - something like <Good Fellas>.
