Singer SUHO was born in Seoul in 1991 and was active in school politics early on, being class president at his elementary school and then vice-chairman of his junior high school. Then in 2006 everything changed when he became a trainee in the S.M. Entertainment troupe. Shortly after, he got a small part in the K-pop youth film <Attack on the Pin-Up Boys> (2008). He then enrolled in the Korea National University of Arts in 2009 and but after two years he withdrew in order to enrol in the Kyung Hee Cyber University. A year after that he was announced as the tenth member of the Kpop supergroup EXO.
In 2013, he joined the voice cast for the Korean dub of the animation <Saving Santa> and in 2014 was announced as a regular host for the SBS weekly music show <Inkigayo>. Following appearances in several music-themed or variety TV shows, SUHO made his true acting debut as one of the leads in the low-budget youth road film <One Way Trip>. The film debuted at the Busan International Film Festival in 2015, where tickets were reportedly sold out within 15 minutes, and earned him a nomination for the Most Popular Actor award from the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards in 2016. He followed that by appearing the web drama <How Are You Bread>, a co-production released simultaneously between China and Korea.
