Quickly thereafter, he was cast as the male lead in family soap opera <Like Land and Sky> in which he played against HAN Hyo-joo. His regular participation to TV show <Family Outing> between 2009 and 2010 broadened his fame and made him popular among the general public. In 2011, he forayed into the Chinese market by starring in the melodrama series <Qian Duo Duo Gets Married> (2011), which hit 1.5 billion views in two weeks and was later also broadcast in Japan. He then got on a roll in Korea with the successive strikes of family drama series <Seoyoung, My Daughter> (2012), in which he starred, and fantasy romance series <My Love from the Star> (2013) and medical drama series <Doctor Stranger> (2014), in which he had supporting parts.
