PARK Hae-jin, born in 1983, immediately rose to stardom with his debut in the TV drama series <Famous Chil Princesses> in 2006, which was later acknowledged with a Best New Actor award at the Baeksang Arts Awards. Quickly thereafter, he was cast as the male lead in family soap opera <Like Land and Sky> in which he played against HAN Hyo-joo. His regular participation to TV show <Family Outing> between 2009 and 2010 broadened his fame and made him popular among the general public. In 2011, he forayed into the Chinese market by starring in the melodrama series <Qian Duo Duo Gets Married> (2011), which hit 1.5 billion views in two weeks and was later also broadcast in Japan. He then got on a roll in Korea with the successive strikes of family drama series <Seoyoung, My Daughter> (2012), in which he starred, and fantasy romance series <My Love from the Star> (2013) and medical drama series <Doctor Stranger> (2014), in which he had supporting parts. The latter two were so popular in other Asian countries that it led PARK into international recognition, to the point where Lotte Cinema launched a screen named after the star in Tianjin, China. A cameo appearance in <The Rhythm Of Chopsticks> (2010) aside, PARK made his big screen debut in 2013 with a leading role in romance film <Snow In Sea Breeze> but it was met with little success. In 2016, he co-starred with KIM Go-eun in <Cheese in the Trap>, a romantic TV series adapted from a famous webcomic of the same name. The series was a success in Korea and was subsequently sold at a record price to China, where it performed particularly well. His popularity in China had become such that he was cast as the lead of Chinese series <Far Away Love> by the time <Cheese in the Trap> ended, postage stamps were later issued featuring the actor, and the following year, his wax figure was added to the collection of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. He gained a wider recognition in 2017 by starring in bromance TV series <Man to Man>, which was purchased by Netflix for a worldwide release. He also reprised his role in the movie adaptation of <Cheese in the Trap> which hit theaters in 2018.
