Right after graduating in film, SEOK Min-u managed to join the film crew of PARK Chan-wook’s <Old Boy> as an assistant director thanks to his friend LEE Gae-byok, who was first assistant director on the project. Upon the recommendation of his colleagues who were busy preparing their directing debut, SEOK was promoted first assistant director for <Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance>. Following their good collaboration, PARK Chan-wook kept him on his side for <I'm a Cyborg, but That's OK> and <Thirst>. He also worked with KIM Jee-woon on <I Saw The Devil>. After working many years for other directors, he eventually decided to take a break in order to develop his own projects. He made his directing debut in 2015 with <THE GREAT ACTOR>, a movie that pays homage to the many unknown great actors who struggle to break through. In it, SEOK notably pokes fun at his mentor through the character of “Cannes PARK”, a successful director whose appearance and way of speaking recall PARK Chan-wook.
