Lee Mokwon debuted in 2004 as one of the property assistants on <Mr. Gam’s Victory>. He became property master soon thereafter, for Ryoo Seungwan’s <Crying Fist> (2005). Continuing his fast progression through the ranks, he was promoted to art director on the comedy <The Art Of Fighting> (2006). The thriller <Children…> (2011) marked the first time he was credited as production designer, and he went on to assume these responsibilities again on the sports drama <As One> (2012), the thriller <The Neighbors> (2012) and the social drama <Cart> (2014). Lee’s work was first acknowledged by the press for his recreation of the Chinatown district of Incheon in <Coin Locker Girl> (2015), which premiered out of competition in Cannes. He then earned universal praise for the replicas of the KTX bullet train interiors he built for Yeon Sangho’s zombie blockbuster <TRAIN TO BUSAN> (2016). He then tackled a new challenge with the fantasy settings in <Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds> (2017) and its follow-up <Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days> (2017), before he found himself in the limelight for his contribution to the post-apocalyptic action film <Peninsula> (2020), the sequel to <TRAIN TO BUSAN>, as he visualized a deserted Korea five years after a zombie outbreak. He then worked with Netflix on its original fantasy horror series <Sweet Home>, and with <Emergency Declaration> (2021), Lee outdid himself as he spent 4 months building a plane set modeled after a Boeing 777 and fixed on a gimbal so that it could be turned upside down like a simulator. In 2022, he was hired to work with Park Chanwook for <Broker> (2022).
