HONG Jong-hyun, who was born in 1990, began his career as a model in 2007 and subsequently attended Konkuk University to study Film Arts. As a performer he first appeared on the big screen in 2008. That year saw him feature in the gay-themed Joseon Era drama-thriller <A Frozen Flower> from director YOO Ha as well as the omnibus drama <Lovers>. Supporting roles in TV started trickling in in 2009 and he has turned into a reliable and consistent actor for the small screen. At the same time, HONG has remained active in feature films, appearing in the main cast of the indie drama <One Step More to the Sea> in 2009 and the 2010 horror anthology <Be With Me>. Raising his profile through more TV roles, HONG returned to the silver screen as the lead of the indie fantasy drama <Alice: Boy from Wonderland>, which had its world premiere at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in 2014. A year later, he once again took on the lead role, this time in a commercial title, in the family romantic comedy <Enemies In-Law>, a sequel to the popular 2011 title <Meet the In-Laws>.
