He moved to television in 1999 with the series <House Above the Waves> and was first seen on the silver screen the following year in the comedy <Ghost Taxi> (2000). LEE first came to prominence thanks to parts in the hit period detective series <Damo> (2003) and the drama series <Pheonix> (2004). He later gained wider recognition by starring in two popular historical series, in <Lee San, Wind of the Palace> (2007) as the Korean King and in <Gyebaek> (2011) as the titular general. LEE is also known for his participation in various reality shows, mainly in the domains of cooking and travels. A much sought-after commercial endorser, his popularity reached a new high in 2018 thanks to the surprise success of the comedy <Intimate Strangers>.
