She manifested a totally different side of her in <Bloody Tie> while she was renowned for her elegant beauty in the past. It seemed that co-starring tough male actors were actually intimidated when she was outraged by their attempts to take her drugs away playing Jiyoung, a ravaged, desperate drug addict. CHOO Ja-hyun played the best role in her decade-long career in the film, which placed her as a new up-and-comer in the Korean film industry. Her acting career has grown since the film. She played Sehong, a woman tracking down her missing sister, in the thriller film <Missing> directed by [KIM Sung-hong]. She showed her sensual beauty in <Portrait of a Beauty>, the film about an established court painter and an erotic painting in the Joseon Dynasty. She played Seolhwa, a giseng who entertains noblemen performing dances and poetry readings in the film. Her strong image was altered completely when she appeared in the on-screen melodrama <Loveholic> directed by [KWON Chil-in]. She portrayed a single woman in 30-something having problems with love and work. The starlet keeps adding all sorts of roles to her acting resume appearing in several short films. CHU relocated to China in 2011, having already clocked up a few mainland appearances in the prior decade. Upon settling in the country she first made the revenge TV drama <The Temptation to Go Home>, a remake of a Korean show. She has continued to appear in a series of major Chinese televisions dramas, as well as the Chinese suspense action crime drama film <The Boundary> in 2014.
