CHA Tae-hyun is a true messenger of happiness in our time. He elicits euphoria from the audience. It was <My Sassy Girl> that introduced him as a bright and innocent character to the world. Playing Gyeon-woo, a giving boyfriend, he even walked around the campus in his girlfriend’s high heels. This most ideal boyfriend stole the hearts of female fans across Asia: another hallyu star was born. CHA Tae-hyun is an all-round entertainer: he can act, he can sing, and he is a talented show host. His role choices have played to his image as an innocent and devoted lover in TV dramas and films. He has pursued a “variation” rather than a transformation in his acting career. He is often quoted as saying, “I hope my acting to continue to bring warmth and happiness to the audience.” CHA Tae-hyun has focused on human comedy since his debut. He has had a deeper interest in a heart-warming romantic drama supported by comedy, rather than in laugh-out-loud situations. CHA Tae-hyun gave 100% of himself in <Lover's Concerto> and enlivened <Crazy First Love> as well the blockbuster hit <Scandal Makers> using his comic instinct. He played a man haunted by a number of geeky ghosts in another comedy work <Hello Ghost>. In <Champ> from 2011, CHA effectively portrayed a jockey who overcomes his failures to succeed. He found success again in the summer of 2012 as the leader of a group of ice thieves in the period comedy <The Grand Heist>. CHA teamed up again with director KIM Young-tak for the comedy <Slow Video>. In 2015, he reprised his role for the <My New Sassy Girl>, which was made as co-production with China.
