Born in 1967, YOON Jae-gu’s first major job in the Korean film industry was as the screenwriter for WON Shin-yeon’s popular KIM Yu-jin starring thriller <Seven Days>, which became a box office hit in 2007. Two years later he was able to mount his directing debut, which he also wrote, <Secret>. The film featured CHA Seung-won as a detective who is racked with guilt when an affair he is having leads to the accidental death of his son, something he has been unable to confess to his wife. The film earned YOON the Best Screenplay Award from the Chunsa Film Awards. Six years later, YOON returned to the director’s chair with <Perfect Proposal>, distributed by CJ Entertainment. Based on the French novel ‘La Femme de paille’ by Catherine Arley, it features LIM Soo-jung as a woman who falls deeply into debt and is tempted by a dangerous proposal by a stranger (played by YOO Yeon-seok).
