AN Nae-sang, born in 1964, entered the prestigious Yonsei University in theology and became the leader of a group of student activists. Having met drama teacher and founder of Hanyang Repertory CHOI Hyung-in while he was politically engaged, AN naturally joined the small troupe where he met the likes of SUL Kyung-gu and KWON Hae-hyo. His connections in theater led him to appear in the short film <Baeksaekin> (1994), the directing debut of BONG Joon-ho that would allow him to be accepted into a film school. He moved to the big screen with supporting roles in <Public Enemy> (2002) and LEE Chang-dong’s critically acclaimed <Oasis> (2002). While he quickly became one of the busiest actors on television, he still finds time for a few big screen appearances once in a while, most notably in <Marathon> (2005), <Forbidden Quest> (2006), <Poetry> (2010), <The Pirates> (2014), <The Last Princess> (2016) and <Steel Rain2: Summit> (2020).
