SEO Hyeon-jin, born in 1985, debuted as a member of girl group M.I.L.K. in 2001 and continued as a solo singer after the group’s disbandment in 2003. In 2006, she received from her talent agency the opportunity to star in the stage musical <The Sound of Music>, thus making her acting debut. It was soon followed by a minor role in the historical court drama TV series <Hwang Jini> (2006), and her first big screen appearances in drama film <Love Me Not> (2006) and <Vacation> (2006). After playing in the queer drama film <Ashamed> (2010), she moved to another agency and experienced a surge in popularity thanks to her lead performance as a commoner becoming a courtesan to meet her beloved in historical drama series <The Duo> (2011). This led her to star in two other historical drama series, <The King’s Daughter, Soo Baek-hyang> (2013) as the title role and <The Three Musketeers> (2015) as the female lead. Following her critically praised first foray into romantic comedies with the series <Let’s Eat 2> (2015), she was cast in family comedy <Familyhood> (2016), from KwangHwaMoon Cinema co-founder KIM Tae-gon, and later took the title role in the hit romantic drama series <Another Miss Oh> (2016), which would allow her to gain wider recognition and pick up the Baeksang Art Award for Best Actress in a TV Series. Later that year, she co-starred HAN Suk-kyu in the medical drama series <Dr. Romantic>, before meeting CHA Tae-hyung in the fantasy rom-com film <BECAUSE I LOVE YOU> (2016).
